April 2010- Holy S***!

So I for one, do not believe that it is already April. Where did my senior year just go? So far, it's been pretty great.

All the way back in the fall, during football season, we won our first two home games- we haven't won that many home games in my four years here. And our marching band performances were pretty baller (Check them out on my youtube channel www.youtube.com/surferkitten92 )

Also, our men's basketball team was pretty, ahem, BALLER this season. We made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the DVC! I went to those post season games...the student cheering sections can get so intense! Pep band can too... but we have to abide by the rules, like no swearing or vehemntly flicking off the other team's cheering section. We lost in the Sectional Final, but it was still a great season! Go Rams!

I've had concerts and games and pep rallies... band has just been crazy this year. But it's been so fun, and every time I think about it, I realize how much I will miss being a part of the GE Marching Rams next year. Not to mention the fact that my amazing boyfriend is only a sophomore... and will still be there for two years after I'm gone. But hey, that gives me a good excuse to come back and visit ALL THE TIME :D
Not that I wouldn't anyway.

Back in November, I auditioned for my school's production of Broadway- Our Way. We took six musicals, and performed the best parts of them- the showiest show stopping songs. Pippin, Chicago, Wicked, Will Rogers Follies, Spamalot, and the Producers. I was cast in Chicago and the Producers, so I spent the next couple months dancing and not eating and not sleeping, and generally going crazy because of all the conflicts with pep band and scholastic bowl. We performed February 3,4, 5,6. It went really well, and the only complaint we got was from one mom who thought our costumes were too inappropriate for high schoolers...

Now here we are. It's spring break, marching band is over for football, pep band is over, and scholastic bowl only has our final party left. There's really not much left to the year, and it's kind of sad. I was named co-crewhead for the scenery crew for my school's production of The Three Musketeers. I'm rather excited for this, it should take up quite a bit of my time. Prom is coming up. I, like many other senior girls, have already bought my dress. It's gorgeous- white satin with sheer black chiffon over it, so it looks silver. :D

And of course, right after prom, we have AP tests. We still don't understand why they put prom before AP tests- isn't that kinda dumb? Especially since- get this- my first AP test is at 8 am, the monday after prom. Gahhhhhhhhh D:

In any case, maybe now I'll keep this a bit more updated, and fill you (my readers...??) in on The Three Musketeers as it comes along, and all the festivites involved with the last few months of school. :D

Peace out and much love!

PS. Congratulations to my best friend Corinne on being named a Lilac Princess!
(You know all those local town festivals- ours is the Lilac Festival. xD)
